Community Involvement

At Aspen Capital Management, we love our Boise community! We have a goal to serve our community as a team. Check out our experiences below!

Rake up boise - november 2023

The ACM team got the opportunity to volunteer with Rake Up Boise again this year! We really appreciated the conversations with the home owners, who were very thankful to see so many helping hands!

BSU COBE GOLF TOURNAMENT - september 2023

One of our core values at Aspen Capital Management is our dedication to continued education.  We also have an internal commitment to care for our community. Boise State is a pillar in the Boise Community.  We are proud sponsors of the College of Business and Economics at Boise State, and we participate/support in multiple ways throughout the year with COBE; one of those being the COBE golf tournament (pictured above).

st. luke’s fitone 5k - september 2023

Our team ran the St. Luke’s FitOne 5k together! We love this race and we love this cause! Here is a blurb from the FitOne mission page:

From participants and sponsors to cheering fans along the race course, St. Luke's FitOne draws thousands of people of all ages to downtown Boise for a fun, community-oriented race.

But it’s more than a great way to spend a September morning. It’s something much bigger—a platform to inspire healthy living, healthy communities, and fun activities kids and families can enjoy for years to come.

St. Luke's FitOne is about building health from the ground up. Every dollar we raise goes toward helping children and families live their healthiest lives.

bsu guest lecturers - December 2022

Mike Mers and Lavea Thomas had the opportunity to be guest lecturers at Boise State's Finance 450: Investment Management class. The students asked great questions and we appreciated the engagement! The future of finance looks bright at BSU!

Bekbolot Loan - fall 2022 (and ongoing)

Some exciting news...this year, for clients who were unable to receive a Christmas gift from us due to logistical roadblocks, we contributed the funds we would have used to Kiva instead!

Kiva is an international nonprofit with a mission to expand financial access to help underserved communities thrive.

We lent $350 to Bekbolot, a 22-year-old farmer in Kyrgyzstan, to buy hay and livestock feed for his farm in preparation for the winter. Bekbolot has been farming for 4 years, and his farm currently has 3 cows and 18 sheep. His farm supports his family and improves their material well-being.

We covered the entirety of his remaining loan amount, and he has 14 months to pay us back (free of interest) on a monthly schedule. Once he pays us back the funds, we will be able to loan the money to another entrepreneur in need of capital. We seek to identify entrepreneurs whose business efforts are sustainable and will create a positive ripple effect in their communities. If you’d like to learn more, visit https://www.kiva.org/.

Rake up boise - november 2022

The ACM team got the opportunity to volunteer with Rake Up Boise! We enjoyed time volunteering together and especially enjoyed the little hands that were very helpful between jumping in piles of leaves.

paint the town - june 2022

Our team had the pleasure of participating in Paint the Town this summer! ACM members and friends/family spent a couple days prepping and painting the home of a fellow Boise resident, Dennis. As the saying goes, "many hands make light work." If you'd like to learn more about this project and others by NeighborWorks Boise you can check out their website here: https://nwboise.org/paint-the-town/
